Ms. Alissa Fraser

My name is Alissa Fraser, and I am honored to serve as the principal here at Ferry Farm Elementary! My career began as a first-grade teacher working in Texas and Arizona, where I gained experience working with English learners. After 4 years in the classroom and a passion for literacy development, I became a professional development facilitator for McGraw Hill in Augusta, GA, coaching teachers to implement a literacy curriculum and supporting division leaders to ensure effective literacy instruction. I moved to Stafford in 2006 to become the reading specialist at Moncure Elementary. I then worked at Rocky Run for 10 years as an ESOL teacher, after which I moved to Stafford Schools central office as the Elementary ESOL Facilitator. For the last 4.5 years, I have been the assistant principal at Hartwood Elementary school. I am currently pursuing my doctorate from VCU.

I am a wife and mother of three. My children are 15, 13, and 12, and they keep me busy with their passion for lacrosse and other sports. I grew up in Michigan and pride myself on being a huge University of Michigan fan. Go Blue! When I have free time, I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with friends, and reading.

It is my privilege to lead Ferry Farm Elementary and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at “The Farm” that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community this year!
