I ATTENDED/HEARD ABOUT PATHWAYS NIGHT TO LEARN ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL SPECIALTY PROGRAMS, WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Decide if you are going to apply to a speciality program (not required) such as STAT, CYBER 4+, Gov School, IB, or Technology & Innovation, a CTE trade (cosmetology, autobody, etc), LEAP, CHAMPS, EPIC, and more! Here is the main link and you can navigate to different programs from there:
https://www.staffordschools.net/futures
- You may or may not want to select a specialty program, it is not required!
- IF you are going to apply to a specialty program, remember applications are only OPEN from Nov. 15, 2023 to Jan. 5th, 2024 and will be based on a lottery system to give all students an equal chance. Parents/Guardians will fill out the application, not the student. Students must make sure their parent/guardian knows their school ID number.
- There will be information nights dedicated to each of the speciality programs listed above on the SCPS website.
- More information will be forthcoming in December and January when course registration opens.
- As always, if you have any questions please contact your AGW counselors!

Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Blue Ribbon Music School
The Music Department is excited to announce the ratings of our recent Music State Assessments. Our top ensembles, Intermediate/Advanced Orchestra, Advanced Chorus, and Symphonic Band, all received a superior rating from the Virginia State Music Educators Association. This accomplishment denotes AG Wright as a VMEA Blue Ribbon Music School.
We are the only middle school in Stafford County to receive a Blue Ribbon this year, with fewer than 10% of all schools in the state of Virginia receiving this honor. This is the third time in A. G. Wright Middle School history that this accomplishment has been achieved.
Please help us congratulate our top AG Wright musicians and teachers on this outstanding accomplishment. At the following links you will find audio and video recordings of the Music Department's top ensemble performances.
You can also visit the declaration on the VMEA - Music website.
Common Sense School Declaration
AGW also now has the distinction of being declared a Common Sense School by the The Common Sense Education team. Congratulations to the entire AGW student body and staff.
