I must say that I would never be thinking in my 23+ years of being an educator, I'd be making this type of message to my fabulous kinders and their, ohhhh, so supportive parents! This school year, I've had the absolute pleasure to teach, to inspire, to love 24 little humans, the smartest, most inquisitive and driven bunch of 5 and 6 year olds I've ever had in my presence.
I first want to say to my students, "I miss you all and love you so much!! Be kind and remember to do the right thing, even when no one is watching! ;) We will see each other again, it'll be just a lot longer than sooner. I look forward to seeing your smiles and getting a big long, awaited hug!!"
Secondly, I want to say thank you to their parents! You have so much love and support for your children, qualities that most parents wish to have. When I would send a message that we needed something for a special project, an ordinary lesson, chaperones, or even more pencils, glue, etc., you responded overwhelmingly and immediately! For this I thank you!
I hope you noticed two things from above. The first is the quote about a peli-can. Believe you can and you will be able to do so. You got this! This quote is mostly for my kinders, but as parents turn to be teacher/mommy/daddy, it's my little words of encouragement for you as well. I'd love to see you never take your parent hat off during all new things about to happen. Love and encourage your babies, let them continue to love learning and let them play, play play! The second thing I included, is the pop up quote over the flying birds. I love this quote as a mom and a teacher because it is our job to work together to make this happen for our children. Parents cannot do this by themselves and simply put, teachers need parents to get those wings full grown and strong!
The traditional school year may be over, but the support I am available to give you and your child is not. Please reach out to me whenever you need to, as I did the same with you during this school year. Stay healthy, stay home :), and stay safe!
