Mrs. Woolfolk

Hello Moncure Community! My name is Mrs. Woolfolk. I am the new ESOL teacher at Anne. E. Moncure Elementary. I am so thrilled to be part of this close-knit neighborhood and already feel at home working with your kids. Teaching is my passion, and I could not see a better place to call home than Moncure!

Like many of our ESOL students, I too immigrated to this great country. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but share a rich and diverse Caribbean heritage, which includes Asian ancestry. Having lived in New York City has offered me valuable experiences interacting with others from all over the world. I value cultural diversity and always find meaningful ways of incorporating new cultures into my lessons.

I have an amazing husband, whom I am proud to call my best friend. I am also a mom to a wonderful boy named Bladen. To me, there is no greater joy than to be a parent. My hobbies include landscape photography, and interior decorating.

This marks my 16th year teaching, and 1st year in ESOL. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, NY, where I worked for 5 years before relocating to Virginia. Prior to working in Stafford County, I worked for PWCS as a 2nd and 3rd-grade teacher.

Each year, I see my students as an extension of my family. I tend to adopt each and every little one into my heart, with hopes of helping to radically change their lives for the better. So, as we embark on this year together, trust that I have your little one’s interest at heart, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s life!

  • The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program works to ensure equal educational access for English Learners and their families. We recognize that all stakeholders share the responsibility of ensuring that English learners develop linguistic, cognitive, and academic skills to become competitive citizens of our society.  Therefore, students whose first language is not English participate in academically challenging programs that respect and build upon the unique cultural and linguistic attributes they bring to the learning community.
