RETURN ALL CHROMEBOOKS & CHARGERS, TEXTBOOKS, and LIBRARY BOOKS
We will be mailing debt letters out next week for students who still have items remaining on their account. We will continue to accept materials and/or payments throughout the summer. Our office hours will be Monday-Thursday from 9-5pm.

NJHS OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
We are proud to announce that Megan Thompson (8th) received a 2023 National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award. This is the highest award that the National Junior Honor Society bestows upon members. Recipients are chosen based on their demonstrated work to support the five pillars of NJHS: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Megan will be presented with money in a 529 college savings account to be applied toward her higher education.
IMMUNIZATIONS FOR RISING 7TH GRADE STUDENTS
Do you have a rising 7th grade student? If so, it's time for updated vaccines. The Virginia Department of Health’s School and Day Care Minimum Immunization Requirements outlines all immunizations required for student enrollment.
Students entering 7th grade are required to receive the following vaccines after their 11th birthday:
- Tdap booster
- First dose of the Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine
- HPV vaccine series (After reviewing educational materials approved by the Board of Health, the parent or guardian, at the parent's or guardian's sole discretion, may elect for the child not to receive the HPV vaccine.)
STUDENT MEDICATIONS IN CLINIC FOR 23-24 SCHOOL YEAR
Medication Permissions must be renewed annually. Be sure to pick up your form for the next year when you visit the school.

STUDENTS CURRENTLY TAKING A H.S. COURSE
If your child was enrolled in a high school course for Mathematics and/or World Language this school year, please read the attached letter and form regarding your rights to expunge your student’s grade.
FALL SPORT PHYSICALS
It’s not too early to start thinking about making an appointment to get your student’s fall sport physical. We must have this FORM completed by a physician and a parent prior to tryouts. A separate signed form is required for each school year MAY 1 of the current year through JUNE 30 of the succeeding year.
LEARNING ACCELERATION GRANTS FOR FAMILIES & TUTORS
To address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students' educational progress and well-being, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced in March 2023 the availability of $30 million in Learning Acceleration Grants to be used for qualifying education services.
