Mrs. Debbie Novalski

My name is Debbie Novalski, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I feel so very lucky to begin my 29th year teaching in second grade at Park Ridge Elementary School! This is my 1st year at Park Ridge. Prior to this year, I spent six years as a 2nd Grade Teacher, three years as a 3rd Grade Teacher and eight years as the Instructional Technology Resource Teacher. I taught in Philadelphia for eleven years before my family moved to Virginia in 2002. While in Philadelphia, I taught fifth, sixth, seventh, kindergarten and first grades.

I love teaching, but I also love learning as well. I have been fortunate to earn my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Holy Family University in Philadelphia, my Master's certificate in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Mary Washington and my Master's certificate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

I have been married to my husband, Phil, for 25 years and we have four amazing children, Kaitlyn, Jon, Christian and Rebecca! Kaitlyn is starting her senior year at VCU majoring in Political Science and International Studies, Jon graduated from North Stafford High School and is going to be an electrician, Christian is a tenth grader at North Stafford High School, and Rebecca is an eighth grader at H.H. Poole MIddle School!

I believe that communication is the key to a successful year together. I am always available to talk, or meet with you when I am not teaching. Please let me know if there are any issues or any concerns regarding your child so that we can work together as a team to reach a solution. I am looking forward to a fun-filled learning year with your child and I thank you for the opportunity to help your child grow and learn this year!
