Additional information regarding Building and Long Term Substitute Assignments:

• School administrators or personnel may contact you to offer a Building or Long Term Substitute assignment at their location. You may only accept one Building or Long Term assignment at any given time
• You may reach out to schools directly to indicate your interest in accepting a Building or Long Term assignment at their location, but are not guaranteed an assignment.
• Once you have accepted a Building or Long Term assignment at one of our locations you will receive a confirmation email of your assignment. If you have accepted a Building or Long Term assignment but have not received a confirmation email, please reach out to the individual from whom you received the offer. Until you receive a confirmation email you are considered an As Needed Substitute. 

Additional information regarding the requirements to maintain your status as a Substitute with SCPS: 

• Substitutes are required to recertify once per year. This email is sent in July, and the recertification must be completed within 6 months of it’s receipt. If you do not complete the recertification you will be terminated in January of the following calendar year and will need to reapply if you wish to return. (Example: You received the Substitute Recertification email in July of 2021. If you do not recertify by January of 2022 you will be removed as a Substitute in January of 2022.)
• Substitutes are required to work a minimum of ten (10) assignments over the course of one (1) school year. If you do not complete a minimum of ten assignments in the allotted time period you will be terminated and will need to reapply if you wish to return.
