• What is Scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a lateral curvature of the spine. 1 in 10 people will have scoliosis and 2 - 3 persons in every 1000- will need active treatment for a progressive condition. 1 out of every 1000 cases may result in needed surgery. Frequent signs include:
    • Prominent shoulder blade
    • Uneven hip and shoulder levels
    • Unequal distance between arms and body (clothes may look like they "don't hang right")

Scoliosis tends to run in families and is more common in girls than boys. Spinial curvature is best dealt with when a young persons body is still growing and responds to treatment better. Mild cases may not need treatment, but should be monitored. If you feel that your child needs to be screened for Scoliosis please contact the Clinic and we can do a screening and referral.
