      What is the NCAA?  
      The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a non-profit organization.  Its members are a diverse group and are located all over the country—including more than 1,200 colleges and universities, conferences and other organizations.

    The NCAA national office administers 23 sports and championships for those sports; gives advice and support to members during the rules-making process; and enforces NCAA rules, which are made by members of the NCAA, oversees the distribution of money to member institutions.
