I love students.........and I love teaching!

My name is Katy Baker and I am one of the third grade teachers!  It is truly my pleasure to be here with these students!

I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!  Goooooo STEELERS!!!!:-)  I attended Slippery Rock University and then received my master's from VA TECH!  I was a full time teacher here in Stafford County and then decided to stay home with my own children for a few years!  After my last child started school, I began subbing and doing long term sub jobs, as needed! Four years ago, I began as a long term sub and loved it so much, I decided to stay!  How could anyone ever leave FFES, right?  This will be my third year in third grade and I am so very excited!  Mrs. Sparico and I will be departmentalized.  I will be teaching math and science and Mrs. Sparico will be the language arts and social studies teacher.  Double the teachers, double the fun!:-)

My husband and I have seven children ranging in ages from almost 15 to 22!  We will have four children in college and three children at Stafford High School!  We also have two Border Collie/Lab mix dogs!!

I am passionate about Stafford County Public Schools and I am passionate about teaching!  It is my sincere hope to watch these sweet children grow and flourish not only accademically - but socially and emotionally, too!  I believe that with love, support, and guidance, every child is capable of learning, as well as being successful and HAPPY!
