Welcome to the Environmental Club - the club that gets things done!
We encourage anyone who has a love for the Environment and the community they live in to come out and join this club. We focus on community-based volunteer work that helps make our environment a better place to live in. The club supports local environmental organizations (like Tree Fredericksburg and the Friends of the Rappahannock) in their efforts of greening up our community and preserving the health of our local environment.
The Club participates in river clean-ups, tree plantings, wetland restorations, Riverfest and other activities.
Anyone who joins the club can do so for $5.
Meetings are held on announced days or unannounced every third Thursday.
E Club in the Paper
I wish they would've said "Forge E Club", but you know who you are! Thanks again to all of you for coming out and making our environment a little cleaner!
Steve Watkins is managing the volunteers. Please email him to sign up for any of the dates. Anyone who plans to participte needs to fill out and bring the liability waiver (find it with the "files" that are uploaded).
Wear stuff that can get dirty and good shoes to do work in. Bring a snack and water. Tools will be provided.
The hours for all plantings is 9 to noon- but we usually end earlier. Ask Mr. Watkins about where to meet.
Dates for planting are below.
11/5 – small planting at Old mill
They could also use a few students for a couple of small mulching projects – any interest?
