Cafe Book at HH Poole
What is it? Cafe Book is a program for 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in reading and discussing new books. During the summer, the Cafe Book committee meets and selects 15-16 books, all published during the past year, to be considered by Cafe Book participants.
Who can join us? ANY 7th or 8th grade student who is interested in Cafe Book is welcome to join the group!
When does it meet? All Cafe Book meetings take place during 7th and 8th grade lunch times in the library or another pre-determined time. Students bring their lunches to the library during their designated lunch periods. A representative from the public library and the HHP librarian will talk about the sixteen (16) titles in the program. Students are given the opportunity to discuss the books they have read.
-
What should I do? All students involved in Cafe Book agree to read at least three of the 15-16 books on the list although you are encouraged to read as many as possible. During the meeting, students will discuss books focusing on their strong and weak points.
