• Circulation Policy

    Students

    • Check out up to five (5) books or audiobooks at a time
    • Keep them up to two (2) weeks
    • Renew until another tribe member requests the book or the end of the year.

    Staff

    • Check out unlimited materials including books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs
    • Check out tech equipment for lessons (robots, Chromebooks, maker items, CD players)
    • Keep items until they are needed by another member of our tribe
    • Receive back issues of magazines (meet with a library staff member for options)
    • Check out Database access cards linked to the Central Rappahannock Regional Library (email library staff for availability)

    SHS Library Good Citizenship

    • Be respectful of those who are working.
    • All students must sign in when visiting without their teacher/class.
    • Students visiting without a teacher must have a pass during school hours.
    • Passes are not required before or after school.
    • Respect print and technology materials according to the Code of Conduct.
    • Technology equipment is for academic use not for gaming.
    • Before printing, please evaluate your print job for length. Ask before printing large jobs.
    • Eating in the Library is a privilege. Please clean up after your visit.
    • The Library is a classroom. Cell phone policy restrictions do apply.
    • The Library does not have a color printer or a copy machine but Library Circ 2 can print double-sided (duplex).

    Philosophy

    The Stafford Sr. High School (SHS) Library provides all members of the school community access to information, reading and research assistance, and instruction in support of the curricula and educational goals of Virginia as set forth in the Department of Education's Standards of Learning. The SHS Library Program enhances classroom experiences and assists in developing a lifelong love and appreciation of reading and learning.

Ms. Ashwood has been a librarian at Stafford High School since 2016. She is the school webmaster, sponsor of the Horticulture-Environmental Club and the Coding Club, and co-sponsor of the Battle of the Books Team with Mrs. Whited.

Mrs. Whited has been a librarian at Stafford High School since 2018.  She previously taught at Ferry Farm Elementary.  In 2018, Mrs. Whited received the Dr. Lola J. May Achievement Award for being the #1 ranked educator in the nation in the First in Math program competition.

Mrs. Doxey is our new Library Assistant. She worked at Ferry Farm Elementary for 20 years as a paraprofessional.
