    Who is eligible for Benefits with Stafford County Public Schools?

    Contracted full-time and part-time employees are eligible for benefits through SCPS.  Appropriate enrollment must take place before eligible employees become active participants.

    • Contracted full-time employees* are eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, worker’s compensation, VRS retirement, VRS life insurance, annual leave (12-month employees only), sick, personal and  bereavement leave, flexible benefits plan, Employee Assistance Program, 403(b), 457(b), direct deposit and approved payroll deduction options.  
    • Contracted part-time employees,those who have a contract for a minimum of 18.75 hours weekly,are eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, worker’s compensation, sick, personal and bereavement leave, flexible benefits plan, Employee Assistance Program, 403(b), 457(b), direct deposit and approved payroll deduction options. 
    • Non-contracted part-time and hourly employees are eligible to participate in 403(b) and 457(b) plans. 

    *  A full-time employee is defined as an individual who is contracted to work at least 37.5 hours / week.  Special categories for designated transportation and school nutrition employees are considered full-time with at least 32.5 hours / week.
