Facility Design Standards

  • SCPS Facility Design Guidelines are available to the Architectural, Engineering and/or Design/Build professionals prior to the commencement of his/her services. It may also be appropriate for SCPS to require compliance with these standards as a condition of A/E agreements/contracts.

    The standards presented herein have been developed in collaboration with representatives from the SCPS Facilities Services, and are based on many hours of discussions and observations of school construction projects and maintenance projects recently completed for SCPS. Specifically, reviews of the construction documents (drawings and specifications), the built facility, and the project planning/construction experiences for the Mountain View High School, Dixon-Smith Middle School and Austin Ridge Elementary School prototype projects have influenced much of the Facility Design Standards.
