Results

  • IB "scores" in each IB course are the combined result of all scores on the IB-required assessment components (internal assessments [IAs] and external assessments [EAs / exams]) for a given course.  Each component comprises a certain percentage of the IB score for that course.

    College credit or recognition

It is this IB score -- not the student's grade in the IB course at BPHS -- that determines whether or not a college will issue credit for a college course -- or another type of recognition.

    Accessing IB score results

Results for IB exams become available on July 6 each year.  Students access their own results by logging in to candidates.ibo.org using the login information issued by the IB Coordinator in April of the exam year.  Scores are not sent home or issued via email; students must access them themselves.

An IB transcript with all IB scores may be requested one time for free before July 1; this is done by the IB Coordinator.  After the deadline, students may request their own IB trascripts be sent to the college of their choice for a small fee (approximately $20).  Again, it is this IB transcript that colleges need to determine college credit or recognition.
