The CFHS Symphonic Orchestra is an mid-level high school string orchestra class. Students in the ensemble will have three to six or more years of experience playing a violin, viola, cello or double bass, unless they have special permission to enter the class from the director. This is a performance-based, auditioned ensemble and it is expected that students will perform with the ensemble in November, March and May of each year. Students must gain entry into this class by way of auditioning for the director. This ensemble performs on an orchestra literature, graded levels 3 - 4. Special, optional extra performances may include but will not be limited to performing in the community and on travel to various theme parks or performance venues such as New York City, Universal Studios or Disney World, Orlando, Florida.
Students are graded in the following ways:
- 40% - Classwork
- 20% - Playing Quizzes
- 40% - Concert Performances
