About

  • The goal of the Heather Empfield Day School is to provide our students with a positive and supportive learning environment.  The students are given opportunities to grow in academics, independent living, and pre-employment activities.

Heather Empfield Day School and Transition Center is a public separate day school in Stafford County Public Schools that primarily works with students with Autism and Emotional Disabilities.  Students are referred to this individualized program through their IEP team.  This small, structured environment limits transitions and distractions, which help students thrive with schedules and expectations.

The program is highly individualized and supports students with academic, social, behavioral, communication, safety, and life skills education throughout the school day.  The program strives to meet the needs of all of the students.
