    If you are having trouble finding a mental health care provider for your child, Mental Health America of Fredericksburg Virginia (MHAFVA)  has a HELP LINE staffed and funded by them that helps the caller find available mental health professionals who are accepting new clients AND takes the person's insurance.  The number is 540-371-2704.

    Mental Health America of Fredericksburg Virginia is a group of mostly volunteers who do outreach programs promoting mental health awareness in our community. Visit their website at https://www.mhafred.org/ for more information.

    If you are experiencing some financial hardships and you would like us to assist in providing some school supplies to your child/children, please call the counseling office to speak to one of the counselors or our registrar. This information is always kept confidential. 

  • Stafford Food Security

    This is a 100% community sponsored organization based in Stafford that provides a box of nonperishable food items for a family who has an emergency need. If you are able to get to a food pantry, please use the food pantry as your first option. If you would like to make a request, please call the counseling department to speak with us or email one of the counselors regarding your need.

  • Resources for Families

    These local organizations help many Stafford County families and always welcome contributions. If your family is in need of assistance, please contact one of these organizations.
    SNAP/TANF (Pre-registration Required) 
    Families who receive SNAP and/or TANF from Stafford County DSS must pre-register for Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance this year.  Applications are available at DSS and for more information please call them at 658-8732.
    Stafford County Department of Social Services (DSS) provides assistance for qualified applicants. Forms can be obtained at the DSS Office located in the Government Complex at Hwy 1 and Courthouse Road. For more information you can call 658-8720.
    The Salvation Army of Fredericksburg takes applications for assistance at their site at 821 Lafayette Blvd. Applicants must bring specific I.D. and documents to complete the application process. They also run a “shoe fund.” For more information contact the office at 373-3431.
    Fredericksburg Area Food Bank has many programs that offer food supplies to area residents throughout the year. Working together with area partners and agencies, the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank feeds those with a low-income, offers emergency food for situational needs, and supports the elderly & kids with programs such as, Food for Life and Kids Café.     S.E.R.V.E., Inc. is an organization that supplements the efforts of other local agencies. Financial assistance with rent and utilities is available for Stafford residents. Food pantry items, clothing, prescription assistance, and holiday assistance are additional programs offered to local families. S.E.R.V.E. can be contacted by calling 540-288-9603.
    Rappahannock United Way provides referral assistance and information regarding local assistance. They can be contacted by calling 373-0041.
