  • Tryouts for the 2021/2022 school year start on August 16th after school.  Students will need to come to school with athletic clothes they can run in and be prepared to run inside or outside weather based on the weather.  Students must also have completed a sports physical on a VHSL physical form and turned it in to either myself or Mr. Frye the athletic director.  Tryouts are currently planned to last three days.  A fourth day may be added to tryouts if the coaches think we need the extra time to evaluate student athletes.

Mr. Toby Pickett

Mr. Pickett is the head coach of the SMS Spartan Football team.  He has over 10 years of coaching football experience behind him across the high and middle school levels.  Our assistant coaches are Mr. McFarland, Mrs. Goldstein and Mr. Smith.
