Mrs. Abbey Martinez

Welcome to North Star Early Childhood Education Center and the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Mrs. Abbey Martinez and I began my career in education as a speech-language pathologist working with children at the preschool, elementary and middle school levels. I served students with disabilities in preschool through fifth grade at Kate Waller Barrett Elementary from 2008-2013, then moved into administration as the Assistant Principal of Ferry Farm Elementary from 2013-2016. I then proudly served as the Assistant Principal of Anne E. Moncure Elementary from 2016-2019. I believe that serving children, families and our community as a special educator and educational leader is a calling. I am proud to help lead schools with positivity, compassion, strong relationships, hard work, humor and a strong sense of team. Please know that my door is always open to hear your questions, concerns, or just to talk about our families. We have a wonderful, caring staff at North Star! I feel privileged to have a job where I can encourage, inspire, and support children, staff, and the community every day.
