Welcome to Room 19 with Ms. Gwen and Ms. Jamie!
We are a Peer Model Classroom with eight students in the first group of the day and eight in the second group. We are so happy to have all of these wonderful children!
Ms. Jamie has joined us to replace Ms. Bethany, who moved to Oregon to support her husband in the USMC. Ms. Jamie has two boys of her own and is a welcomed addition to the classroom.
Ms. Gwen has worked with preschoolers all of her life. After earning her B.A. in Education and Human Development from George Washington University, she taught at Country Day School in McLean, VA, followed by teaching at the Child Development Center at American University in Washington DC. Next up was teaching her own two children about the world! Ms. Gwen later returned to the field of Education at Stafford County Head Start, teaching while earning her M.Ed from George Mason University. She then went on to teach in Fredericksburg City Public Schools' VPI program, but returned to Stafford to work in the Peer Model program.
Ms. Gwen loves languages, cooking, chocolate, gardening, and her two silly rescue dogs (Shih Tzu mixes), Ollie and Chou Chou. She has two adult children, one in Vermont and one in Charlotte, NC, and misses them very much. She tries not to put pressure on them for grandchildren.
