• Welcome

    Dear Early Childhood families,

Welcome to the "fabulous Fours and Fives" Hybrid and Virtual classrooms! Our classroom staff includes myself and our wonderful para professional, Mrs. Heather Sanders ("Miss. Heather"). We are so excited to share a fun filled, positive year with you all!

You will find a wealth of learning activities/recommendations on the "Newsletters" and "Resources" pages on this web page. I hope that you will find these to be valuable resources. These resources will address such developmental skills as: Cognition, Language, Social and Emotional, Self Help, Fine Motor, and Gross Motor. They will encourage active explorations, problem solving, social engagement and communications,  developing a positive self concept, and responsibility. These resources are based upon the following guiding principles:

    • Children learn best through active involvement with people, materials, events, and ideas.
    • Consistent adult support and respect for children's choices, thoughts, and actions strengthen a child's self-esteem, feelings of responsibility, self-control, and knowledge.
    • Children learn best when immersed in a positive, consistent, and predictable routine.
    • Children greatly benefit from a language enriched environment.

Please be sure to check in and contact me with any suggestions, questions, and/or concerns you may have as we learn how to navigate this new norm together. I look forward to supporting your child/family to the best of my ability (keeping in mind, please, that this is a learning curve for me as well!).

Thank you, Laura Szymendera, ECSE (lszymendera@staffordschools.net)
