• At this time, virtual registration is closed at the middle and high school levels. Please contact your child's school for further information or to enroll your elementary student.

SCPS will offer virtual learning for the 2021-2022 school year, however the virtual option is not directly provided through our schools and teachers.  Rather, SCPS will use third party vendors to provide a virtual option, which will be available on a case by case basis to elementary students based on sufficient rationale (medical, social-emotional, academic basis) and upon request to middle and high school students. This will help significantly reduce the amount of concurrent teaching that has had to take place this year, enabling our teachers to use a wider array of teaching methodologies. Below is a chart illustrating the virtual options at each level:

Elementary (CONTACT YOUR CHILD'S PRINCIPAL TO ENROLL)

    (Vendor: K-12, Inc.)

    Middle & High (CLOSED)

    (Vendor: Virtual Virginia)

    • SCPS will monitor students for academic progress for whether or not virtual learning is an appropriate fit
    • Teachers affiliated with Virtual Virginia
    • Specialty, fine and performing arts, & CTE programs may not be available if a student is registered virtual
    • SCPS will monitor students for academic progress for whether or not virtual learning is an appropriate fit

Please note, that due to limited availability, SCPS reserves the right to establish eligibility criteria for and to restrict the number of students participating in the virtual program for the 2021-2022 school year. The full complement of elective courses and specialty services available to in-person students at each level (elementary, middle, high) may not be an option for those students participating in virtual instruction. For students with disabilities, the IEP process will be utilized to determine appropriate services for students learning in the virtual environment.
