  • Remind Texting Service Ending for Verizon Customers

    Posted:  January 15, 2019

On Monday, January 14, 2019, our high school was notified by Remind that the text messaging service for Verizon customers will be ending on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Remind is a free communication service that educators can use to send out mass messages to students and parents/guardians without having to know personal contact information.  The service allows end users to sign-up for an educator’s class through a unique code. The educator is then able to send out Remind messages pertaining to course work and upcoming events.  There are two ways that end users can sign-up for a class or group using Remind: text messaging or the Remind app (for Apple and Android devices). Remind is not unique to our high school and is used by schools around the country.  This service has been approved to be used at our high school and is utilized by many of our educators to communicate information in addition to Synergy Class Websites.

Verizon users will no longer receive Remind text messages though due to cost increases imposed by Verizon if an agreement is not reached by January 28th.  To view the details surrounding this event, point your Web browser to https://goo.gl/gQiFnX.

In order to support our school’s educators, students, and parents/guardians who have Verizon as a service provider on their device and utilize Remind text messaging, we encourage the end users to download the Remind app from their application store.  Ensure that you link the phone number you are currently receiving Remind text messages on with your Remind account that you created. We encourage our students to sign-up for a Remind account with their scps.net Google account.

To download the Remind app, select your device platform below:

  • Class Websites Mobile App Reported Issues

    Posted:  December 11, 2018

We have reported to our school division the Class Websites mobile app issues that users are experiencing when utilizing the StudentVUE/ParentVUE mobile app on their device.  These issues are being investigated further.  The issues explained below are division-wide and not just isolated to our high school.

    Reported Issue #1:

Users of the StudentVUE/ParentVUE mobile app may experience an error message when selecting the Class Websites button.  The user will be unable to view any class websites through the mobile app only.

The workaround for this issue is to access your StudentVUE/ParentVUE account from your device’s Web browser rather than the mobile app by pointing your Web browser to https://psp.staffordschools.net.

    Reported Issue #2:

Users of the StudentVUE/ParentVUE mobile app will be unable to view multiple file attachments that are posted by a teacher on the class pages when selecting the Class Websites button for a student’s courses.  This issue is present when a user is able to access the Class Websites button from the mobile app (see Reported Issue #1).  This issue only appears in the mobile app.

The workaround for this issue is to access your StudentVUE/ParentVUE account from your device’s Web browser rather than the mobile app by pointing your Web browser to https://psp.staffordschools.net.
