Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lisa Skeer
Hello! My name is Lisa Skeer and this will be my seventh year teaching second grade at Moncure Elementary--the BEST elementary school in the county! BIG things are coming to Moncure this year with our new, beautiful building! I am excited to meet all of you and learn more about you and your families. Here is a little bit about me.
I grew up on a working farm in a small town in Indiana. I showed livestock at the 4-H fair, played just about every sport in highschool and I was a cheerleader. I graduated from The University of South Caroliona (Aiken) with a degree in education. I went back to school and earned my Master's degree in Diverse Student Populations from The University of Mary Washington. Before coming to Moncure, I taught for nine years at Grafton Village Elementary in southern Stafford.
My husband Tom is a retired Marine and continues to work at Quantico. We have three children and all are products of Stafford High School. Our daughter Allison graduated from JMU and is married to John (her name is now Allison Allison:) Our second daughter Cara graduated from VCU, is married to Josh and they just had my first grandson, Will:) Our son Tom is a senior at UMW playing soccer for the men's team. We have one dog named Annie and a whole lot of cats running around outside our home.
In my free time, I enjoy running, watching soccer and spending time with my family.
I am looking forward to the BEST second grade year yet!
