Entering my sixth year as PRES Librarian I wanted to take the opportunity to share a little bit about myself with many of our new and returning parents. Being an Army wife for over 29 years, I was fortunate enough to live and visit many places all over the world, including Europe. For the past twenty-six years, I have lived in Stafford County. The last sixteen were spent teaching full time at Park Ridge Elementary in first and second grade classrooms and now the library. This marks my seventeenth year here, and I'm very excited to continue my tenure with Stafford County in the library!

This school holds a very special place in my heart—not only is it a wonderful school full of great colleagues and amazing students, but all three of my children attended here in the past.  My younger two actually attended here for their full Elementary school experience, starting as wide-eyed Kindergarteners and graduating from fifth grade moving on to middle school. Such a solid foundation for their educations encouraged all of them to apply themselves not just in the upper grades of education, but to college as well.  Presently, my eldest, Jennifer, a very talented artist and novelist, lives here in Stafford along with her husband, Adam.  My oldest son, Jason, is currently in the U.S. Army and living in North Carolina with his beautiful wife, Kathleen, 10-year-old daughter, Juliann, and 4-year-old son, Keaton. Being my only grandchildren at present, they are the subject of all the photos on the"Grandbabies Wall" in my office. My youngest son, Andrew, graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y seven years ago and recently relocated back to Colorado to pursue an exciting employment opportunity.

As for me, when I am not at school, furthering the education of the students and encouraging reading, I enjoy collecting antiques, reading, swimming, and spending time with my family. My teaching experience spans the last 39+ years and includes full, part time, and subbing, from Kindergarten thru Fifth grade, as well as the Library.

I am looking forward to my sixth year as the PRES Librarian, to seeing old faces and meeting new students. I have many things planned for this upcoming year and have highlighted a few in my welcome letter.
