Hi! My name is Beth Halterman. I am a PROUD graduate of Purdue University with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Go BOILERMAKERS! While at Purdue I was fortunate enough to work as a residence hall counselor, teach Children's Literature and Special Education undergraduate courses, and develop life long friendships with wonderful professors.
This is my 32nd (wow!!) year of teaching at Rockhill Elementary School. I have taught 1st grade, a K-2 special education program, 3rd grade, and most recently, 2nd grade. It is my goal to visit all of our National Parks and I currently have been to 47 (many of them multiple times). The beauty of our nation is amazing! Concerts/lecture series events, cycling, and outdoor activities are some things I enjoy outside of school. My most recent summer adventure was taking a ROCKING THE RAILS COAST TO COAST Train trip from Virginia to Washington State to explore Olympic NP. Trip of a lifetime!!
As an educator, I want children to be excited about coming to school and eager to THINK about ideas. It is my hope that children feel a sense of wonder and energy in our school day whatever lesson we are working on. Trust, respect, and kindness are our essential core values we nurture in our class. Believing in every child/family, and helping each child/family believe in themselves guides my life and my teaching.
Best wishes for all of us in the 2022-23 year ahead!
Beth
