Stafford Day School

Stafford Public Day School is a public separate day school that primarily works with high school students with Emotional Disabilities and Other Health Impairments in Stafford County Public Schools. Students are referred to the program through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process when they require a highly structured educational environment with intensive behavioral, academic, and social-emotional supports.

Our small, supportive learning environment is led by special educators with expertise in behavior intervention and individualized instruction. The program provides evidence-based behavioral supports, individualized behavior plans, social skills instruction, counseling services, and transition planning designed to help students build self-regulation, strengthen academic achievement, and prepare for post-secondary success.

The goal of Stafford Public Day School is to provide a safe, supportive, and trauma-responsive learning environment where students are empowered to recognize their strengths, rebuild confidence, and develop the academic, behavioral, and life skills needed to thrive in school, the workplace, and their communities. Through strong partnerships with families and school staff, we strive to meet the unique needs of every student while promoting resilience, independence, and lifelong success.
