Chris Fulmer

Chris R. Fulmer, CPA, CFE, is currently in his 12th year with Stafford County Public Schools, a place that has become both his professional home and a cornerstone of his personal life. Since 2019, he has had the privilege of serving as the Deputy Superintendent, overseeing the operations of Stafford County schools. This role has allowed him to work closely with dedicated staff and the community to ensure that students receive the highest quality education and support.


Before his tenure with Stafford County Public Schools, Fulmer honed his skills in public accounting, conducting financial audits for various government entities including counties and school divisions. This experience provided him with a strong foundation in financial management and accountability, which he brings to his current role.

Fulmer is married to an amazing educator, and they have three wonderful children who are all students within the Stafford County school system. His deep roots in Stafford County shape his commitment to the community. Fulmer was born and raised in the county, attending Rockhill Elementary, A.G. Wright Middle, North Stafford High, and Colonial Forge High Schools. His educational journey continued at James Madison University, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting.

Fulmer is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, and is actively involved in several professional organizations including VBOA, VASS, VASBO, VSCPA, GFOA, VGFOA, AICPA, and ACFE.

In addition to his professional work, Fulmer is passionate about giving back to the community. He serves on the board of The Nathan Chris Baker Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building playgrounds for children.
