About the School Board
The school board is a body corporate, and in its corporate capacity is vested with all the powers and charged with all the duties, obligations, and responsibilities imposed upon school boards by law and may sue, be sued, contract, be contracted with, and purchase, take, hold, lease and convey school property, both real and personal. Individual board members shall have no authority or duties except as may be assigned to them by the board as a whole.

Garrisonville District
Ms. Maureen Siegmund
Chair, Garrisonville District
Term: January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2025
About:
Maureen and her husband decided to create their home in Stafford County (Falmouth District) in 2005 after spending many weekends coming here to enjoy the historic sites. After 10 years, they moved their family to the Garrisonville District in 2016.
Maureen earned her BA in Political Science and Public Affairs from Elmira College and a certification in Campaign Management from Campaign School at Yale University. She spent many years working in the fields of higher education, defense and insurance policy, as well as in association management. Maureen previously worked for the White House Office of Public Liaison, Office of Women's Initiatives and Outreach for the Clinton administration.
Maureen currently works as the director of external relations for Active Policy Solutions, a government relations and advocacy firm that specializes in K-12 education, higher education, civil rights, youth development, sports, health, and wellness. She has served in this role since 2014.
Maureen, her husband Steve, and their four children enjoy their neighbors in Austin Ridge and have become part of the Anthony Burns E.S., Rodney Thompson M.S., and Colonial Forge H.S. communities. Outside of school, they are parishioners of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, and also participate in American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA. Maureen serves in regional leadership as a hometown mentor for the American Heritage Girls, a K-12 outdoor girls leadership development program as well as the coordinator of her local troop. The Siegmund children enjoy playing basketball, football, and volleyball through Stafford County Parks & Recreation and soccer through Stafford Soccer.

Aquia District
Ms. Maya Guy
Vice-Chair, Aquia District

About:
Maya has been an avid volunteer in Stafford schools for over a decade. She has advocated for higher teacher pay, for schools to be fully funded, and to decrease classroom sizes, and many other initiatives that would bring Stafford County's public schools into the 21st century and beyond.
She understands that raising a family can be hard, and that today there are more pressures on children and parents alike. Many of us face so many challenges, and Maya is familiar with the struggles of day-to-day family life and how that can play out, even in the classroom setting or the playground.
Maya is the mother of five children and a strong believer that if we work hard together, we can achieve just about anything. She believes our community is an amazing place and that we can do more to support each other and our children and educators.

Falmouth District
Dr. Sarah Chase
Falmouth District
Term: January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2025
About:
Sarah Chase was first elected to the School Board in November 2017. She was reelected by the citizens of the Falmouth District in November 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Georgetown University, and a PhD in cognitive neuropsychology from Rice University. Dr. Chase's research focused on speech and language deficits.
In 2000,Sarah and her husband and their two children settled in Falmouth. Her third child is a Stafford County native. Dr. Chase has worked as a psychology professor at the University of Mary Washington and St. Mary's College of Maryland. She has served on the PTO/PTA boards at Falmouth Elementary School, Drew Middle School, and Stafford High School. She coached Drew Middle School's MathCounts team for nine years. At the county level, Dr. Chase was the Falmouth parent representative on three redistricting committees, and served on the School Board's Gifted Advisory Committee for three years.
In her spare time, Dr. Chase enjoys going on walks, playing bridge with friends, and knitting.

George Washington District
Ms. Susan Randall
George Washington District

About:
Ms. Randall first came to call Stafford County home in 1974. Her mother was a teacher in Stafford County Public Schools for 15 years in a few different elementary schools. As a student in Stafford herself, Susan attended 1st through 12th grades. After graduating from North Stafford High School, she attended Old Dominion University and earned baccaluareate degrees in biology and secondary education. She began her career in education as a substitute teacher for Prince William and Stafford Counties. When Brooke Point High School opened in 1993, Susan transitioned to classroom teacher. She taught biology, marine biology, and environmental science for seven years. For five summers, she organized and chaperoned a field trip to Andros Island in the Bahamas for Stafford County students to SCUBA or snorkel each day and learn about the Bahamian culture and marine life.
Susan left teaching to stay home and raise her three children. Two of her children have graduated from high school and are attending college. Her third child is currently in high school.
Although Susan left the classroom, education has remained her passion. She has worked hard on behalf of many students and teachers. She has:
- Advocated in all areas of education in writing and in person to the school board and board of supervisors;
- Developed leadership skills as president of the Ferry Farm Elementary School PTA for five years, and served seven years on the board
- Voted as Volunteer of the Year for the Fredericksburg Area District;
- Maintained membership and volunteerism with all levels of PTA/O;
- Served on the Capital Improvement Program Advisory Committee for Stafford County School Board for three years (led as chair and vice chair);
- Served on the Educational Specifications Committee for the rebuilds of Moncure and Ferry Farm Elementary School with school board member Irene Hollerback and former BOS member Bob Thomas;
- Served for three superintendents on the Parent Advisory Committee;
- Served as a parent representative on the former Governor's round table in Stafford;
- Served on redistricting committee; and
- Served on calendar committee.
Susan and her husband, Russ, first met while they both were attending North Stafford High School, and they have enjoyed calling Stafford County home. Together they have enjoyed coaching and watching their three children in their various sports. In their spare time, the family enjoys their time on the water.

Griffis-Widewater District
Dr. Elizabeth Warner
Griffis-Widewater District

About:
Dr. Warner was elected to the school board in November 2019 and began her term on January 1, 2020. She earned a baccalaureate degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry from Wingate University in North Carolina. In graduate school, she completed her masters work in microbiology, then switched programs to earn an interdisciplinary Ph.D. focused on cellular and molecular biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research work was centered on the pathology and treatment of liver disease.
With their three children grown (one graduated from UNCC and settled in Fredericksburg, one in Florida, and one a graduate of RIT and living in Rochester, New York), Dr. Warner and her husband settled in Stafford in 2016.
Dr. Warner has taught high school biology and chemistry. At UNCC she taught freshman block classes in biology and advanced classes in microbiology. She has mentored students from high school to those enrolled in medical school in a summer internship program offered by Atrium Healthcare. This program afforded students from many backgrounds the opportunity for hands on project-based learning in a research laboratory.
In her spare time, Dr. Warner enjoys drawing, painting and writing. She and her husband appreciate their proximity to the Potomac River where they often go boating and kayaking.

Rock Hill District
Ms. Patricia Healy
Rock Hill District
Term: January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2027
About:
Patricia Healy has served as the Rock Hill representative on the School Board since January 1, 2000. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish literature from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Doctor Juris degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
Ms. Healy moved to Stafford County in 1985 and joined her husband in a private law practice in North Stafford in 1986. She first became involved in Stafford County Public Schools in 1998, when her daughter entered kindergarten and she helped her daughter’s school PTO raise much needed funding for a new playground.
Ms. Healy enjoys visiting the schools in the Rock Hill District, volunteering at PTO/PTA/PTSA functions, and attending performing arts and athletic events. She lives on Dun Rovin Lane with her husband and two rescue border collies, Tango and Whiskey.

Student Representatives
Ms. Joellaine Duku
Student Representative

About:
A long-term resident of Stafford County, Joellaine is an International Baccalaureate® (IB) student who attends Brooke Point High School, and is a proud graduate of both Widewater Elementary School and Shirley C. Heim Middle School.
Always having a passion for diplomacy, Joellaine is one of the proud executive leaders in her school’s chamber orchestra (as Concertmistress), Model United Nations, Black Student Union (as a co-founder) and IB Ambassadors clubs. She also holds office in her school’s student government as a junior class representative in addition to being an active participant in her school’s National Honor Society and Forensics club. She also holds an executive position in Stafford County’s Youth NAACP.
Outside of school, Joellaine likes nightly walks, stars, fashion, video games, reading, listening to music, and drawing.

Ms. Jennifer Odetogun
Alternate Student Representative
Term: January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024
About:
Jennifer is an International Baccalaureate® candidate and a JROTC student at Mountain View High School. In addition to expanding her knowledge, she finds pride in helping her community. Jennifer's compassion, perseverance, and advocacy are values she considers important. As the alternate student representative to the school board, Jennifer hopes to work alongside her peers and community to provide a better education system for all Stafford Schools students. She is
determined to tackle issues such as lack of resources, mental health, and excessive dependency on technology.
Jennifer hopes to pursue a career in criminal justice after high school. She has been a part of her school's student government since her freshman year, as well as volunteering and helping out within the student body. She is the current historian of her junior class, and is a part of clubs such as DECA, and BSU.
Besides her love for education, her community and its growth, Jennifer finds comfort in expressing her creativity through doing the hair of those she loves most.
