Types of School Board Meetings

The School Board holds various types throughout the year:

  • Regular monthly school board business meetings are typically held on the second Tuesdays of each month. These meetings are held in the school board chamber.

  • Special called school board meetings are occasionally called when there is a time-sensitive matter that must be discussed or voted upon before the next regularly-scheduled business meeting. These meetings are usually held in the school board chamber or executive session room.

  • Work sessions are held when the board members needs to have an in-depth discussion on a particular matter or matters. Work sessions are usually held in the executive session room unless a larger venue is needed.

  • A public hearing is held when a matter arises that requires citizen input (i.e., budget, redistricting). The locations of public hearings vary.
