Advisory Committees

Stafford Schools Policy 1110 states, "Appointed members from each magisterial district shall serve two-year staggered terms to ensure continuity of experience and work of the advisory committees. Appointed members from the same magisterial district shall not have the same term on an advisory committee."

The terms begin in January and end on December 31 of the following year. If a member resigns from the committee, another applicant from that magisterial district will be selected to serve for the remainder of the incumbent's two-year term.

The school board's advisory committees usually meet in person. However, the committees are permitted to hold up to two virtual meetings per calendar year.

There is no prohibition against serving on more than one committee at the same time. However, it may be difficult to do so because some committees meet on the same nights at the same time.

Any committee member who misses more than two meetings in a calendar year will be removed from the committee, as stipulated in Stafford Schools Policy 1110 and each committee's bylaws.
