Profile of a Learner

At Stafford County Public Schools, we believe in the power and potential of every student from the moment they begin their educational journey with us. This summer, we will transition from our Profile of a Graduate to a new framework, the Profile of a Learner. While the framework's core vision remains the same, the new name reflects an important shift in perspective. Learning, growth, and the development of essential skills begin long before graduation. By embracing the Profile of a Learner, we recognize and celebrate the work that starts in Pre-K and continues through every grade level, ensuring that elementary, middle, and high school students can all see themselves in the skills, habits, and experiences that prepare them for success in school and beyond.

At Stafford Schools, every graduate will excel in:

  1. Communication: Stafford graduates exchange thoughts and ideas effectively using oral, written, and nonverbal communication skills across different contexts.
  2. Collaboration: Stafford graduates demonstrate empathy, flexibility, and the ability to compromise and self-reflect while working together to achieve common goals.
  3. Critical Thinking: Stafford graduates engage in inquiry, experimentation, analysis, problem solving, and informed decision making.
  4. Creativity: Stafford graduates develop innovative ideas and original work.
  5. Citizenship: Stafford graduates make a positive impact in our community through leadership, service, empathy, respect, and integrity.
  6. Wellness: Stafford graduates are aware of and attend to their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
