How to Apply
There will be two application systems for Secondary Offerings in the 2025-2026 school year.
- Stafford Schools Secondary Offerings (including Specialty Centers and Secondary Program Pathways) and the Commonwealth Governor’s School (CGS) Stafford Application System
- The Academy of Technology and Innovation at University of Mary Washington (ATI-UMW) ATI-UMW Application System.
Students are eligible to apply to a maximum of four Stafford Schools Secondary Offerings to include CGS. Stafford students may also apply to ATI-UMW.
Information Needed to Apply
Current Stafford families will need your student’s Stafford Schools ID number which can be found in Parent/StudentVUE. Families will also need to provide their email, home address, and the student’s date of birth. Please use the student's legal name exactly as it is listed in Parent/StudentVUE.
Homeschool and current private school families will need to provide your email, home address, and the student’s date of birth.
The application system is designed to include families in the decision-making process. Families should create an account or use their existing account in the online application system and work with their student to apply to the Specialty Centers, Secondary Program Pathways, and Regional Schools.
On February 17, 2025, families will be notified of their status. If your student is accepted through the application system, families will be notified via text, email, and the online application system. Notifications for ATI-UMW will be sent separately. If Specialty Centers, Secondary Program Pathways, and CGS applicants are not accepted on February 17, 2025, they will automatically be placed in the program’s waitlist. As families accept and/or decline their student's offer to attend, additional seats will open and waitlisted applicants will be notified.
Families will have 7 days to accept only one offer after notifications begin on February 17, 2025. Waitlist applicants will be immediately notified if space becomes available on a rolling basis.
