Stafford Academy for Technology
At Stafford Academy for Technology (STAT), we’re thrilled to offer an exciting and innovative learning experience approved by the state as a Governor’s STEM Academy. STAT is a comprehensive four-year program passionately crafted around Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), encompassing diverse fields including the medical sciences.
Our devoted instructional team, comprising teachers from various disciplines such as sciences, technology, English, and mathematics, fosters a collaborative and immersive learning environment. Open to rising ninth graders through an application process, STAT students for the 2023-2024 school year will be an integral part of the high school hosting their chosen program: Biomedical Science (located at NSHS), Engineering (located at NSHS), or Information Technology (located at BPHS).
STAT isn’t just a program; it's a dynamic community where students embark on a four-year journey, fostering strong bonds within a like-minded cohort. We emphasize integrated coursework, hands-on projects, and service-learning initiatives, connecting students with mentors from the business community to instill purpose, commitment, and a deeper understanding of both college education and the professional world. As part of their senior year, students will undertake a substantial research project.
While STAT serves as an exceptional pathway for future careers in STEM fields, it's also designed to nurture essential 21st-century skills. Students learn to think creatively, solve complex problems, communicate effectively, adapt to change, and work both independently and collaboratively. Our aim is to empower students to embrace diversity, show accountability, and become leaders who respect and value others.
At STAT, we're dedicated to helping students realize their full potential, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed for success in the ever-evolving landscapes of life and work.
