Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH is a one-year internship program for Post-Graduate students with disabilities, between the ages of 18-21. It is targeted to students whose goal is to gain competitive integrated employment of at least 16 hours per week in the Stafford County/Fredericksburg area.
The program takes place at Mary Washington Healthcare, where total immersion in the workplace facilitates the teaching and learning process as well as the acquisition of employability and marketable work skills. Students participate in three unpaid internships to explore a variety of career paths.
The program provides real-life work experience with training in employability and independent living skills to help young adults with disabilities make successful transitions from school to a productive adult life.
