Chalk the Walk Details
Stafford County Public Schools invites the Stafford community to "Chalk the Walk" ahead of the 2023-2024 school year on Monday, August 7, 2023. Participants are encouraged to chalk the sidewalks leading to and at schools to welcome students, staff, and families back to the new school year.
Whether you’re an amateur or a professional artist, this event is your chance to get creative. Unleash the magical power of sidewalk chalk and share a positive and uplifting message on sidewalks throughout Stafford Schools.
Register to Participate
In order to participate, all interested individuals must complete a registration form.
Registration will help to avoid overcrowded chalking while also ensuring every school in the division receives the same warmth and welcome. As such, division staff might reach out to offer an alternative school from your initial choice.

- All ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
- Use chalk pastels (no oil pastels) or sidewalk chalk on a sidewalk. No other material besides is allowed.
- Each school will be provided with a supply of sidewalk chalk, which will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Participants should plan to bring their own chalk.

- Keep cool! Be mindful of the weather and heat conditions. All participants are responsible for their own safety and should follow safe practices to preventing heat-related illness. Participants should not chalk in hazardous weather conditions.
