Discovery Nights!

Stafford County Public Schools extends our sincere thanks to the families and students who joined us for Discovery Nights, held throughout December. These events offered a valuable opportunity to explore the wide range of high school programs and pathways available across our five high schools, including High School Specialty Centers, Secondary Program Pathways, and Regional School opportunities.

What Happened at Discovery Nights

During each evening, families had the chance to:

  • Attend rotating information sessions led by high school counselors, teachers, and administrators

  • Explore exhibits highlighting academic and extracurricular offerings

  • Learn more about specific programs available at each high school

  • Engage with school staff to help plan a meaningful and personalized high school experience

Whether your student is a rising 9th grader or currently in high school, Discovery Nights provided a helpful overview of the many choices available to help students thrive in their educational journey.

Looking Ahead

If you were unable to attend or want to explore more, we encourage you to:

  • Visit individual high school websites for detailed program information

  • Reach out to your school counselor with any questions about course offerings or pathways

  • Stay tuned for future opportunities to engage with our schools and explore student programs

Please note:
The Academy of Technology & Innovation at the University of Mary Washington held its separate information night on Thursday, November 21 and does not require registration through the general Discovery Nights process.

Questions?

If you have questions or need more information about high school planning and pathways, please reach out to your school’s counseling department. We look forward to continuing to support your family as you plan for a successful and fulfilling high school experience.

Together, we're building bright futures in Stafford County.
