FERRY FARM STUDENT COUNCIL
Ferry Farm's Student Council has been active for the last 22 years. Our goal is to promote leadership by providing our students the opportunity to improve their school and their community. They learn how to effectively communicate with those in authority and collaborate with their peers. They use critical thinking to come up with ways to improve the school and help their community through community service projects. They are also responsible to decide how to raise the money to finance their plans. We expect them to display good citizenship at all times because of their leadership role. They use their creativity when advertising and promoting their projects. Council members also gain confidence in public speaking through the election process and by reporting back to their classrooms and in the younger student's classrooms.
We purchased book carts for the library this year. The carts will enable classes to roll their books to the library in the morning rather than carry them. We purchased one cart for each grade level.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARDS
We teamed up with B101.5 to send Christmas Cards to our troops overseas. 17 of our classes participated in the effort. Ferry Farm students and staff were able to make 417 cards to send to our men and women in uniform. Great Job!

Thank you! Thank you! Our Ferry Farm families are so generous! We were able to collect 528 boxes of cereal to help the Fredericksburg Food Bank and the Hollywood Church of Brethren feed families in need. Your willingness to help others is appreciated.
FALL CLEAN UP
We cleaned up the playgrounds and blacktop on November 7. We would like to thank Mrs. Wesley Montrief for all of her help. Students shoveled mud off of the blacktop, relined some of the blacktop, pulled weeds on the playgrounds and picked up trash on the blacktop, fields and playgrounds. To view more pictures, please go to the Student Council Photo Gallery.
SPRING CLEAN UP
We cleaned up the school grounds on May 17. Students picked up trash all around the school. They also pulled weeds on both playgrounds and added mulch where it was needed.
