Wolf Pack Pride! That is what it is about at Winding Creek Elementary School! From the moment you step through the door as a student, teacher, parent, staff, family, or community member, you become a part of "The Creek" family. You are a member of the Pack!
Winding Creek has an established reputation as a school where students are valued, challenged, and appreciated; however, we are not resting on our excellent reputation. As a staff, we continually strive to challenge ourselves to learn the most current research and instructional practices that allow us to provide learning experiences that prepare our students to leave Winding Creek as creators, collaborators, communicators, critical thinkers with outstanding character and a growth mindset. Teaching our children to be critical thinkers is the foundation of our work. If our children learn to think, then there is not a problem they cannot solve. Teaching P.R.I.D.E: positive attitude, respectful/responsible, integrity, determination, and empathy are the core principles for building outstanding character to make great citizens, and we use P.R.I.D.E is how we reflect on our actions. “Everything we do, we do with...P.R.I.D.E!” is a motto you will hear quite often as you become a part of the Winding Creek family. We recognize it takes the whole community to achieve success, which is why building strong partnerships with families is essential to our work.
As a member of The Pack, you are always welcome! We value parents, family, and community members to help in our classrooms and around the school. It does "take a village", and we hope you take the opportunity to volunteer in your child's classroom, around the school, or for different functions throughout the year. We have an outstanding PTO!!! They support our school throughout the year, and we could not provide all of the family events without them. Please join the PTO and volunteer for just one event this year. Many hands make light work and if everyone would volunteer for one event, we would have the most successful PTO in all of Stafford. Please contact them by clicking on the channel for "Our School" and look for the PTO folder.
So if you are already a member of The Pack, great! If you are moving to the area, we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you as a new member of "The Creek" family.
Best Regards,
Rebecca Wardlow
