•      Welcome back to a new school year! I hope everyone is ready to get 2019-2020 started....even though we did have a short break.  My name is Dennis Emerson (Mr. E) and this my 23rd year at Falmouth. I am excited to welcome everyone back, and give an extra welcome to any students and families that are new to Falmouth this year.  Every student has PE twice a week for 45 minutes per class. During the next 10 months, it will be our goal to introduce and expose your child to as many activities as possible. These activities will include simple games, locomotor and non-locomotor movements, cooperative activities, specific skill practice, individual sports and team sports.

Being prepared for PE is very important. Please make a note of which days each week your child has PE so that they will have proper clothes and footwear. It is important that all students wear sneakers or tennis shoes for safety reasons and performance reasons as well. Crocs, boots, sandals, and dress shoes are unsafe for students who are in an active environment.

Thank you and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Even though this is several monthes away, an early reminder never hurts. All 2nd - 5th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart around the end of February. This is an annual event that we sponsor each year that involves jumping rope, playing basketball, and emphasizing how important daily exercise and a commitment to an active lifestyle is to your heart health. Every dollar that is collected during this event goes directly to the American Heart Association to assist with research into finding better medicine, better treatment, and hopefully a cure for any and all types of heart disease and stroke.

  • We will start our fall Run for Fun the third week that students are back in school.  Try your best to make sure students have a pair of tennis shoes/sneakers that are safe and comfortable. We will start with a 5 minute run and run one time each week. Every time students run, the time will be increased by one minute. As we increase the running time, their endurance should start to improve.
