Meet Your Teacher
Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome! It has been a very busy summer with traveling, gardening, reading, trying new scrumptious recipes, and spending time with my family and friends. Here we are at a new school year already, 2018-2019. This year I will be moving up to 5th grade. This is not new to me, for I’ve taught 5th grade before. I’ve been teaching for over 22 years! Stafford has been home for me and Mr. Beard for over 26 years. I grew up in Philadelphia in the West Germantown area (Fly Eagles Fly !!). I attended Mary Washington College for undergraduate work and attended George Mason for my masters.
For many years, my philosophy in teaching has been that all children can learn in their own unique way. It is important to tap into their learning style and make the learning process successful for them. I believe in zero tolerance for bullying. It is important for all students to be respectful, cooperative, and collaborative with each other. When my students walk into my classroom, I want them to feel safe and secure. I look forward to a very productive school year with many fun-filled learning activities!
