Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Stephanie Proffitt

Hello and welcome to the Hartwood Elementary ESOL website!!  My name is Stephanie Proffitt and I am the ESOL Resource Teacher.  This will be my eighth year as the ESOL resource teacher at HES and I look forward to another great year of growth, learning, and English language development here at HES!  Prior to being an ESOL teacher, I was a 2nd grade teacher for six years in both Stafford County and Prince William County.  I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology from George Mason University and a Master's degree in Elementary Education as well as a certifcate in TESOL- Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Mary Washington.  I love working with children who speak other languages at home and supporting their development of the English language.  It is so rewarding to watch the amazing growth both personally and academically, that our ELLs- English Language Learners make over the course of time.

Welcome to HES and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about our ESOL program or your child's progress at
