  • BOOK CLUB

    Miss Halterman's favorite part of the day... Novels our team will read over the course of the school year include: Stuart's Cape, Clementine, Stone Fox, Henry Huggins, Because of Winn-Dixie, Boxcar Children, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Magic Tree House--- Kit Kittredge, Henry "BOX" Brown, and Follow the Drinking Gourd.   Kevin Henkes novel The Year of Billy Miller about a 2nd grader is always a favorite too!  We LOVE TO READ!!

  • OUTDOOR ADVENTURE DAY

    Microscopes, tent building, smores, animal tracks and more!  A fun filled day of adventures coming in November.

  • MATH CHALLENGE/GEO BEE

    Students participate in a daily math challenge with a rotating trophy.  Each FRIDAY, we review all of our K-2 Social Studies/Science SOLS in our exciting GEO BEE challenge.

  • BOOK  BUDDIES WITH HEARTFIELDS ASSISTED LIVING CENTER

    We will begin our Book Buddy program with Heartfields in November. This program focuses on encouraging senior/student friendships, interactions, and reading. Look for dates and more information in our newsletters. This Fall begins our 16th year of this partnership and we have had some senior buddies this entire time! Life is Good :).  Book Buddies in the NEWS!

  • GOLDEN TICKET READING

    READ, READ, READ!!  Our class will be reading Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Students will also read to earn a chance at opening a candy bar with a GOLDEN TICKET!!  Coming in February.

  • WeDo Lego Robotics

    Each month we will try to do a lego robotics build that connects with our academic curriculum.  Take a look at some of our builds from this past school year.  Go TEAM!

  • BOOK TALKS

    Our class will be doing BOOK TALKS in the months of January, February, and March.  These are creative oral presentations with note cards and props.  See newsletters for more info.

  • PBJ CAFE

    Families are invited to join our class for this end of the year celebration that transforms our class into the WORLD FAMOUS PBJ Cafe.  Students work preparing for this fun lunch by working as producers, consumers, and marketing experts.
