Welcome to Mrs. Machi's First Grade Class!
While our time in the classroom has ended this year, please remember I am here to support my students and parents. The county has provided many at home learning activities. Students have the opportunity to choose digital learning and/or offline learning. We are asking families to refer to these links for learning through April 3rd but they can be used through the remaining of the school year. More information will be coming for learning opportuities starting April 6th. Please let me know if you have any difficulty accessing the link or if you have any questions.
Happy Monday! I hope everyone has had a great start to your day!
Thank you for your continued support with the computer programs. I posted certificates for those that reached the goal on the individual programs. I am extremely impressed with the 10 students who met the goal in all three programs. The First Grade Team is working on special recognition for those kiddos. Please encourage your child to meet these goals again this week.
These continue to be the weekly goals for each program:
Dreambox - 5 lessons
Lexia- 8 units
Raz-Kids- 3 books (listen, read, and quiz for each book)
Lexia has a letter for parents. 1st Lexia Read at Home Letter
We also have good news about the Lexia program. Students will have access to this program through July 31st.
We will continue this week’s Google meets on Wednesday. If the Wednesday time doesn’t work, please let me know and I will try to arrange a meet later this week. For this week’s meet, we will do our traditional share time as well as review some math skills. The review of math skills will be done in a scavenger hunt format. I think the kiddos will have a lot of fun! If your child is using plug in headphones, please remind them to take off their headphones before they leave. I will also remind them before we start!
The Google Meet “nickname” will be emailed to you about 5 minutes before our meet’s start time.
It’s not too late to sign up for Google Meets, if you would like for your child to participate, please complete the Google Usage Agreement form. Here is the link:User Agreement
If you have yet to participate in a Google Meet, here is a how to video. Let me know if you have any questions. Google Meet.mp4
Mrs. Bondesen shared some fun news about Mo Williams. Mo Williams, a favorite author of many first graders, has a daily talk at 1:00 P.M. He shows the kids how to make characters, how he gets his ideas for characters, and ways to take paper and create scenes. Here's the link: Mo Willems Lunch Doodles
Have you seen the Beekeeper video on Google Classroom that was posted last week? If not, I would recommend a visit. So cool! If you have any questions, please post them and we will try to get answers for you.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
