    IB: The Intergantion Baccalaurete Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of studies (leading to examinations) that meets the needs of highly motivated secondary students in the last two years of high school.  Students who are self-motivated and high achieving may choose to enroll in one or more IB subject courses in an area of particular strength and interest, or they may enroll in the full IB Diploma Programme.  Students must fill out an application before enrolling in the full IB Diploma Programme.  IB is offered at Mountain View and Brooke Point High Schools.  It is strongly recommended that students interested in IB visit the IB link below for more information.

    Please join us on Wednesday, December 16 from 3:30-4:30 in our Google Meet so we can answer your questions!

    The IB Coordinators from Brooke Point High School, Mountain View High School, along with current IB students will host a virtual town hall meeting. We will answer any questions you may have about this fabulous program and what it can do for you!

    The IB Application Process: Are you ready to apply for the IB Programme? Click here to access the application form. It will be completed electronically this year. Please note the following timeline:

     

    • December 1: Application is available
    • January 8: Applications are due
    • February 26: Students and families will be notified of acceptance
    • March 5: Students and families will need to notify schools of intent to participate.

    Commonwealth Governor’s School:  The Commonwealth Governor’s School provides highly motivated students with a challenging, interdisciplinary program in English, science, mathematics, and social studies.  Based on a school-within-a-school model, this half-day program utilizes interactive audiovisual technology, field trips, and team teaching to create a regional community of learners.  Depending on their attendance zones, students who are accepted attend one of three sites: North Stafford, Stafford, or Colonial Forge High Schools.  All students in SCPS may apply, regardless of high school attendance zone. Interested students should see their school’s gifted education resource teacher or counselors.  Please contact Mr. Trotta at RTMS with questions.

    STAT: The Stafford Academy for Technology is a state-approved Governor’s STEM Academy.  STAT is a four-year program of study utilizing a hands-on project based model of instruction, focused on 3 career pathways (Information Technology, Engineering & Technology, and Biomedical Science).  STAT offers students the advantage of learning in a “cohort” of like-minded students throughout the four-year experience.  For more information on STAT please go on-line to the link on the other side of this page.
