Mr. Mike Archambault

Principal - Mr. Mike Archambault was named Principal of Rodney E. Thompson Middle School in July 2019, and was the assistant principal since 2015. Mr. Archambault hails from New York, his undergraduate and master’s work are in Secondary Social Studies and Adolescent Education from SUNY Cortland.  He also earned an Educational Specialist degree from Regent University in Administration and School Leadership with a focus on Special Education.

Prior to his arrival at Rodney E. Thompson Middle School, Mr. Archambault taught middle school Civics and Economics with King George County schools. 

Mr. Archambault is married and has two young children. Outside of school he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, fishing, listening to live music, and exploring the area’s extensive history.

Mr. Jeff Howard

Assistant Principal - Mr. Jeffrey Howard began his career in Stafford County Public Schools in 1982 as an English teacher at Drew Middle School. In 1991, he was appointed as Assistant Principal at Stafford Middle School where he served until his appointment as Assistant Principal at Rodney Thompson Middle School in July, 2019. Mr. Howard received his bachelor’s degree from
the University of Mary Washington in English and his master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Education.

Mr. Howard is married and has five grown children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, classic movies and television, and his work in the music ministry of his church.

Mrs. Rose Averett

Rose Averett, Assistant Principal, Rodney Thompson Middle School

 

Assistant Principal - Ms. Rose Averett -  Prior to assuming this role, Ms. Averett served as the Math Specialist at Rodney Thompson Middle since 2010. She began her career with Stafford County in 2004 as a middle school teacher.

 

Ms. Averett was a member of the School Leadership and School Improvement Teams at Thompson Middle. She served as the PLC lead facilitator for math at all grade levels and the math department leader. Ms. Averett has experience developing and presenting research-based professional development workshops for teachers and leaders.

 

Ms. Averett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science from the University of Maryland and her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Virginia. She completed the requirements for her teaching and administrative endorsements from the University of Mary Washington.
