  • Dr. Dashan Turner - Principal

    Dr. Turner

    Bio:

I have worked in education for 20 years. I have worked in leadership positions, including elementary and secondary level principalships and several district-level executive positions. Most recently, I served as the Asst. Superintendent of Human Resources within Arlington Public Schools. I spent several years working for school districts within the Northern Neck of Virginia as an Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director of Student Services. During my tenure as Principal of Washington and Lee High School (2014-2015) and Washington District Elementary School (2009-2012), my instructional leadership and ability to cultivate teacher leadership were evident as both schools achieved full accreditation by improving instructional performance in critical areas.

As a leader and lifelong learner, I believe in being intentional about my learning. I recently completed my Doctorate at Northcentral University in March of 2020. My dissertation focused on understanding the impact of trait emotional intelligence on school superintendents. In addition, I have achieved other education degrees from Liberty University and a small community college in Mississippi (Holmes Community College).

Dr. Turner, his wife Candace Turner, and children (Alicia, Sydney, Brandon & Brooklyn) look forward to joining the North Nation Community.
