• Barrett's Physical Education
    Welcome to Physical Education Class!

"The goal of elementary physical education in Stafford County Public Schools is to develop the total health and well-being of each student."  At Barrett, we will provide students with the skills and attitudes that will lead to a healthy, and well balanced lifestyle.

Our students have PE class twice a week for 45 minutes each.  Two grade level classes come together in which Mrs. Bressler and Mr. Miterko team teach.  Safety during PE class is our top priority. Students are expected to wear proper attire including appropriate shoes for all our physical activities.

    Rules in Physical Education Class:

    • 1 Have Fun
    • 2 Be Safe
    • 3 Be Smart (Make good choices)
    • 4 Be Fair
    • 5 Respect Others (Keeping hands and feet to ourselves)

    Barrett's Running Club

This year the P.E. Dept. will have a school wide program called the Barrett Running Club.  Every student participates at the beginning of their P.E. class by running/jogging for a designated amount of time (usually approximately 6 minutes) to accumulate laps.  These laps will be recorded (5 laps = 1 mile) and put on a class chart that is posted on the bulletin board outside the cafeteria.  Students and parents :) can look at these class charts to see how well they are doing.  Every 5 miles (25 laps) they will receive a foot token to show their achievement.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Bressler or Mr. Miterko at school 540-658-6464 or email bresslerks@staffordschools.net or miterkojm@staffordschools.net.
